Sara Jordan - Songs That Teach

Sara Jordan is an award winning composer, teacher and publisher of educational audio/book kits promoting literacy, numeracy and general knowledge in English, Spanish and French. Observing that her students excelled in music class, Sara Jordan was perplexed as to why they were not experiencing success in the basics of reading, writing and `rithmetic'. The answer, she determined, was in the music. Music, if the songs were catchy, had the power to motivate, to transcend barriers and to make learning fun. Her music CDs are accompanied by activity books to allow children to experience different learning mediums. To encourage interactive learning, the music is written in a "call and response" style. In this way, the children are able to immediately react to what they are taught and are better able to retain that knowledge.
