Senior Copywriter and Voice of Play

The Senior Copywriter and Voice of Play develops communications across a variety of media in the Mastermind Toys Brand voice, in order to build brand love, inspire play, and drive sales.

Content Creation

  • Work with the Creative Services team providing copywriting expertise with consistency across various initiatives while considering elements including the customer experience, and brand voice.
  • Translate ideas and concepts into copy and content that contain insightful information and messaging consistent with the Mastermind Toys' brand.
  • Create copy/content for Mastermind Toys website, customer facing emails, social media, store signage, videos, catalogues, gift guides, packaging, and advertisements.
  • Lead the ideation and content creation for website and email media related to parenting lifestyle, toy industry trends etc.
  • Support writing and submissions for brand/corporate awards as needed.
  • Take initiative to develop a deep understanding of the why kids play. model, seeks out information on play patterns and the role of play in child development.
  • Liaises with category managers and vendors to understand features and benefits of products.
  • Represents the voice of play in brainstorming and ideation.


  • Liaise with creative services team and broader marketing team on a daily basis to develop copy and content for a variety of projects.
  • Manage work completion within established timeline and budget for each project.
  • Develop brand voice guidelines.
  • Participate in campaign development ideation sessions.
  • Occasionally support other projects as needed.
