GoldieBlox is an interactive book + construction toy starring Goldie, a kid inventor with a love of engineering, who solves problems by building simple machines. While the story unfolds, girls get to build what Goldie builds! In Goldie's debut story, she decides to build a spinning machine to help her dog, Nacho, chase his tail. Soon, the whole gang wants in on the action. Help Goldie build a belt drive to spin everybody!
GoldieBlox encourages play time that builds spatial skills, basic engineering principles, and confidence in problem solving!
GoldieBlox, Inc. is a toy company founded in 2012 by Debbie Sterling, a female engineer from Stanford University. She has made it her mission in life to tackle the gender gap in science, technology, engineering and math. Debbie has also written and illustrated Goldie's first story! The effectiveness of GoldieBlox isn’t based on assumption. Debbie spent a year researching gender differences, talking with Harvard neuroscientists, and observing children’s play patterns.
